RIOT Ink is a group of writers.

We sharpen each other’s pencils. Load our pens. Fill our pages.

We’re all about the work.

We read each other closely and carefully with the better story, the better line and just.the.right word always in mind. We get together because writing is never a truly solitary act. Everything you ink on the page, tap into the screen or chisel onto your chosen stone is informed (haunted, incited, inspired) by many people. Writers, in spite of the lonely peculiar island we cultivate for ourselves, write to be read, to have our “dead thoughts… quicken a new birth…”  To have our words  “scatter, as from an unextinguished hearth ashes and sparks… among mankind.”

We try and help each other with this. It is a good goal, we think.

 

We have many projects, including publications, readings and other literary events.
